Mission Statement:
The women’s advisory board was created to provide a resource of wisdom and support to other women as they strive to fulfill the responsibility and obligations set by the Lord pertaining to priesthood in our day. “The rights of priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven and … the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled, only upon the principles of righteousness.” (T&C 139:5) Priesthood has been confined to men by the fall of Adam, however, it is given to women to sustain men’s priesthood rights. What better system to form a check and balance of this power as performed on earth to produce harmony and cohesiveness between women, men and children as we strive to create loving marriages and families. The resources offered by the council are provided for all and upon solicitation from women seeking direction to meet their obligation to navigate priesthood situations in their individual circumstances and locations.
Who we are:
We are a council of 7 women chosen by lots to help facilitate and provide a resource of wisdom and support to others as they strive to fulfil the obligations set by the Lord pertaining to priesthood in our day. This council of women will serve in their positions on an annual rotating basis, as chosen by lots. Council members have served on previous councils in order to offer an experienced perspective. There is no requirement to contact the women’s advisory board nor obligation to rely on our council. It is simply offered for guidance and support to help navigate individual circumstances. We urge you to obey all of God’s commandments and to use priesthood power responsibly. Most of all, we encourage everyone to develop healthy relationships with all in their lives and especially with our Savior Jesus Christ.
